JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage clients as they enter the shop creating a favorable and lasting impression
  • Read and understand HH Handbook and expectations of quality services
  • Anticipate client needs by being able to identify and provide solutions to skin, scalp, and styling concerns through service options and product offerings
  • Each barber must successfully execute all services within the time, or less, designated in booking reservation system. Service times and prices are determined by HH.
  • Ensure daily cleanliness, neatness, and sanitization of all functions of shop are taken care of that barber(s) is responsible for, listed on daily responsibility checklist
  • Continual effort for shop function; sweep between clients any station where needed, towels laundered, folded, supplied at towel station and towel warmer
  • Regular marketing and strong effort for client retention via quality and recurring appointments
  • Barbers are expected to perform all functions of the front desk with confidence and accuracy, should the SC be absent; schedule/cancel/move appointments, full functionality of reservation system, take payments for services and issue change
  • Maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance as the face of our brand
  • Barbers are scheduled in the shops at all times by 8 hour shifts (exceptions made at Operation’s discretion) with scheduled 30 minute breaks- primarily full time with part time considered at Operation’s discretion
  • Ability to arrive to work 10-15 minutes prior to your assigned shift start time and ability to stay past shift to continue servicing clients as needed
  • Full availability for weekend and holiday hour shifts is expected
  • Fill in for absent team members as necessary

PAY / BENEFITS / PERFORMANCE

  • Barbers are compensated for their service and product sales by commission levels only, no hourly or base rate of pay except during training period.
  • HH barbers do not pay booth rent or for back bar items.
  • Barbers can work through levels at annual performance appraisal to increase commission amount and earn vacation pay

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Licensed with state cosmetology or barber board. Barber or crossover license preferred (ability to offer straight razor shaves)
  • Experience in customer service, computer and cash register preferred

Shop Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

SCs report to the Shop Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • SCs are often the first point of contact for clients entering the shops for appointments, so engage clients as they enter the shop, creating a favorable and lasting impression
  • The SC position is highly responsible for the overall client experience, look, feel, cleanliness, communication, and performance of the lobby and front desk of shop
  • Ensure retail shelves are merchandise are cleaned, organized, and stocked
  • Perform backbar exchanges, checking in inventory as needed, and providing inventory management support for the Lead Barber and Lead SC
  • Schedule walk-in appointments and ensure that cancellations or adjustments are taken care of as outlined by HH
  • Operate cash register, cash handling and payments for services rendered and issue change and receipts, accurately use reservation system, ensure register closed nightly with cash deposit pulled
  • Actively promote and have knowledge of HH service menu, additional services (email and text reminders, recurring appointments, etc) and merchandise/products for sale
  • Continual effort for shop upkeep; sweep between any station where needed and the entire shop; towels laundered, folded, supplied at towel station; hot towels supplied in the towel warmer, additional responsibilities listed on the daily list
  • Ability to problem solve and exhibit forward thinking as client concerns arise
  • Read and understand HH Handbook, policies, and procedures
  • SCs maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance as the face of our brand
  • SCs are typically scheduled in shops 30 minutes before opening to 30 minutes after shop closes, by shifts. Shifts are scheduled 30 minute breaks for shifts longer than 8 hours (unpaid) or 15 minute breaks for shifts shorter than 6 hours (paid)
  • SCs clock-in and out for shifts and breaks using the reservation system
  • Ability to arrive to work 5-10 minutes prior to your assigned shift start time and ability to stay past shift to complete tasks, if necessary
  • Fill in for absent team members as necessary

  • SCs receive 6 month performance appraisals with opportunities for pay increases

Experience Team

JOB DESCRIPTION

Experience Team (ET) reports to the Operations Team (OT).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ET are often the first point of contact for a Hudson / Hawk Barber & Shop (HH) client when booking an appointment
  • Receive incoming phone calls for appointments, often high volume, and addressing client inquiries, concerns, and troubleshooting
  • Outgoing calls for client moves due to barber schedule changes
  • Understand and communicate service policies to clients, in regards to arriving to appointments late, cancelling appointments, no showing appointments, and additional service policies outlined by the HH Handbook
  • Management of barbers’ schedules and lunch breaks, as well as making sure the shop is aware of unmet shop minimums
  • Ability to problem solve and exhibit forward thinking as client concerns arise
  • Read and understand HH Handbook, policies, and procedures
  • Job is performed with professionalism and understanding that business office hosts many vendors and visitors. Required to be trustworthy with discreet and confidential information over heard in the business office.
  • Highest-level of responsibility with office security and reporting
  • Transfer and updating of information in intranet communication tool
  • Maintain cleanliness of business office and restroom
  • ET is typically scheduled 30 minutes to 1 hour before shops open until shops close, by shifts. Shifts are scheduled 30 minute breaks for shifts longer than 8 hours (unpaid) or 15 minute breaks for shifts shorter than 6 hours (paid)
  • ETs clock-in and out for shifts and breaks using the reservation system
  • Reliability with attendance and on time arrival critical to the entire company’s operations Ability to arrive to work 5-10 minutes prior to your assigned shift start time and ability to stay past shift to complete tasks, if necessary
  • Fill in for absent team members as necessary
